Sustainable Renovation with The Pebble Trust & Robert Gordon University

This event is aimed at everybody in the retrofit sector from private and public-sector landlords to architects, builders, surveyors and those simply interested in upgrading their own homes. It will feature Chris Morgan talking about his highly aclaimed book, "Sustainable Renovation - Improving Homes for Energy, Health and Environment” published by SEDA and the Pebble Trust in 2018. Chris is a director of John Gilbert Architects, and has drawn heavily on his experience of retrofit projects and Building Performance Evaluation to highlight some of the key reasons why much retrofit work to date has failed to meet expectations and how these issues can be addressed. Chris is a Certified Passivhaus Designer, a former chair of the Scottish Ecological Design Association and one of four architects in Scotland accredited to "Advanced" level in Sustainable Design.

Two other speakers will present case studies of their own work improving existing buildings in the Aberdeen area: Bob Pringle, Chartered Agricultural Engineer who on the renovation of a granite Aberdeen house and David Chouman architect who will present a case study in Old Aberdeen.
